I want to get lost... As much as possible.

"Today" is how I will refer to all of the adventure since I left Bowling Green on Wednesday. Pretty much I was up for 18 hours with only intermittent sleep on the plane. So everything I've done since that time seems like it has been in one day. Although I would never want my days to be this long everyday!
My travels began in Nashville, Tennessee. The two hour flight to Newark, New Jersey was happily spent reading Divergent and beginning Insurgent. The flight was perfect and super quick. The interesting part was getting on to my connecting flight. Newark doesn't have the best operating transit system between terminals. I'm glad my carry-on luggage was light enough to heave up the flights of stairs we had to go up to get to the second terminal. Plus I was barely in time for boarding since my first flight had a slightly later landing than was expected. I almost forgot to mention how tiny this plane was! It was by far the smallest I've ever been on with only 3 seats per row. Talk about claustrophobic.
The flight to London was nothing short of huge. The plane was enormous, and it was the longest flight I've ever been on. 6 1/2 hours was a lot shorter than I was expecting though. My flight arrived to London perfectly on time at 7:40 am (London Time.) After that all I had to do was go through immigration. And it only took an hour and a half. yay. not. I slightly resented the lack of air conditioning in the area as I listened to the girls behind me talk a little too loud the entire hour and a half. I thought that was a long wait for the immigration anyway but the other students at Harlaxton who only had to wait 10-30 minutes definitely confirmed that for me. By this time I only have an hour to get my bags and to terminal 3. I am in terminal 2. You would think they're close; they're not. I rush to terminal 2 in order to get there before 10:00 when the shuttle starts leaving for Harlaxton. Turns out I was early and rushed the whole time for no reason. Oh well. Haha.
I slept basically the entire 2 1/2 hour bus ride to Grantham from London. Which is good since at this point I've been up roughly 8 hours since then roaming the halls, exploring the grounds and attending orientations.

I am rooming in the Carriage House. Which is awesome, but I am so jealous of the huge rooms the girls in the Castle have. This just gives me motivation to go explore though. ;)

I was going to post a picture of the room I am in but didn't get a picture before the electricity went out. I'm pretty sure we're all waiting for someone else to tell the people in charge because it's still off as I write this post. Instead this view from my window earlier in the day will have to suffice.

I don't mean to brag, but this is where I get to go to school for the next four months.

When our British Studies teacher asked what one of our goals for this year is, I told her, "I want to get lost... As much as possible." This gained me some strange looks from classmates. But I do want to get lost. I want to get lost in this culture. Lost in its streets. Lost in its history. Lost in its beauty. I want to get so lost the only way I can get out is by growing, trying something different, and learning. I want to get so lost I find something I never would've found being safe and boring. Today I got lost exploring the grounds of my castle of a school. Who knows where I'll get lost tomorrow.

At least I know exactly where I'll be studying this year. I cannot wait!
