No, I am not just repeating myself. That's really his name. I mentioned him in my last post, but in case you don't remember, "Harlaxton Manor was begun in 1832 by Gregory Gregory. His vision for his house had been nurtured by travels in Europe, visits to numerous English houses of Elizabethan and Jacobean style, and his own architectural research." Gregory Gregory wasn't just the visionary for the majestic castle I get to call my home. He is also the namesake for the majestic House, Gregory, of which I am part.
Yes, I said "House." Think Harry Potter, as in Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw. But better. Because it's real.
Our involvement in our Houses began Friday night at the High Table Dinner, which is just a fancy name for opening dinner, basically. We were seated at a table with some of our housemates and the others lined the tables behind and in front of us.
My House is Gregory.
Gregory has perhaps the most widespread interests: they can be scientists, artists, or diplomats. The ability to be many things at once can sometimes get them lost. However, those of Gregory are fierce and can find, or fight, their way out of there darkness. Together, we strive for greatness!
(I would like to point out, I got this House description AFTER I told my professor I wanted to get lost as much as possible!)
Our competition: Mercia, Pegasus, and Newton. Our first time meeting our entire house was Sunday night when we elected our two House Captains: Jacob and Caroline (holding the Gregory banner.) Afterwards, we preceded to win the first house competition: putting together a very large puzzle of the London Tube in the quickest time.

Tonight marks our second victory: Pub Bowl. An interesting name for a quiz over random British facts, music, geography, well known political leaders, and celebrities. Somehow, my team, with an even more interesting name, the Gregor-B-Awesome team, won the competition for Gregory. We lucked out knowing One Direction, Spice Girls, and political leaders. We tied with Newton for 1st place and sealed the deal with the tie breaker: the closest team to guessing the distance from New York to London. So indeed, Gregory for the win. GO HOUSE!

On a side note, I was happily chosen to be an Ambassador for Harlaxton today as well. I am privileged to assist Harlaxton college in given basic tours to guests, as well as providing hospitable service during receptions, dinner, and special group visits throughout the semester. It's pretty exciting. At least three of the Ambassadors are from Gregory, proving just how awesome the Gregory House really is!
....Let's be honest, if WE were in Harry Potter we would definitely be GRYFFINDOR.
